The Conference of European Churches (CEC) will hold a webinar on Freedom of Religion and Belief on 23 November from 16:00 to 17:30 (CET). The webinar is held as part of CEC’s Pathways to Peace initiative and marks the 10th Anniversary of the Summer School on Human Rights.
The webinar will feature reflections on fundamental human rights rooted in international legal treaties and the protection of places of worship places and cultural heritage sites in Europe. How are security threats due to populist divisions are increasing? How can we protect and promote safety and peace in our communities? The speakers will address the added value of the quick guide from the European Commission on the protection of worship places, exploring the lessons learned from the Safer and Stronger Communities in Europe (SASCE) program.
The session will be moderated by Ms Kieryn Wurts of the European Baptist Union.
