Mission Shed: Growing Faith
Saturday 28 September, 10am-4pm at St John’s Newport, Barnstaple
“Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord” Psalm 22:30
“Young people aren’t just the future of the church, they ARE the church!”
A day to consider how our churches can put children, young people and families at the heart of their mission and ministry.
Our next Mission Shed gathering is in Barnstaple on the topic of Growing Faith. Growing Faith is the movement that exists to put children, young people and families instinctively at the heart of all the mission and ministry of the Church by changing the culture of the Church of England.
Our main contributors include Sharon Blyth (Diocesan Children and Families Mission Enabler), Sue Lockwood (Diocesan Director for Education), and Chris Curtis CEO of Youthscape. Chris has been working with young people for more than forty years. His work has focused recently on helping churches get going in youth work and finding ways of placing young people at the heart of church life.
Paul Friend, also joins us for the day. Paul leads South West Youth Ministries (SWYM) and has been involved in leadership roles in charity and church for the last 25 years. He is passionate about team leadership and developing a healthy leadership culture.
