ROLE SUMMARY

We provide facilities for short, residential stays for schools at Menadue, and we are looking for a very special individual to join our team and to cook meals for the children and staff. This role is essential in ensuring they feel safe, welcome and are well-fed and looked after during their stay.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone living within easy reach of Menadue, with the relevant skills and experience to work with our trustees, staff and volunteers to make our vision a reality.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Our school residentials are normally for up to 4 nights during the week, Monday to Thursday. Numbers vary from between 20 to 60. We need a home-cooked and tasty evening meal prepared, and so hours will be approx. 4pm- 8pm on those days. This time includes preparation and cleaning up after the meal and setting things in place for the children to get their own breakfast.

Our bookings are generally made well in advance so you will always have plenty of notice of your working periods.

BENEFITS

  • This is a part-time opportunity; hours will be irregular but not weekends or school holidays
  • An hourly rate of £12.50/hour as an employee (£15.00/hour for self-employed)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

As a Christian faith-based charity, our beliefs are foundational to everything we do. The post- holder will be expected to be sympathetic to these beliefs and work to support all aspects of the work of the trust, its trustees, staff, and volunteers.
