We are a Christian led charity that equips local churches to deliver a whole person and place based lifestyle health intervention, in the form of a 10 week programme.
We provide an off the shelf resource pack along with training and support for churches who want to help both individuals in their communities, and also reduce the burden of lifestyle diseases for the NHS, that is suitable for people of all faiths and none, though is delivered by people motivated by their Christian faith. Because we explore aspects of physical, mental emotional and spiritual health from a Christian perspective, in a way that is empowering choice and does not proselytize food, faith or physical activity, it is suitable for both discipleship and evangelism, helping healthy individuals, including those that make up healthy churches.
If you’d like to know more about how and why – here’s a link to the social prescribing page – including our latest health outcomes, which we produce in partnership with Exeter University.
We are based in Cornwall, though we have a national vision to see the church inspire healthy lifestyle in communities around the UK.
To do date, in Cornwall we have trained partners in Bodmin, Wadebridge, Penzance, Helston, Porthleven, Liskeard & Looe, Newquay/Perranporth and Bude, though not all of these are currently active. We also have other partners in Devon, Hampshire, Cambridge, London, Essex and Stockport.
