At this sad time with the loss of Queen Elizabeth II we would like to commence our gathering at the Peace Field on Sunday, 18th September with a period of thanks giving for the life of the Queen and joining together in celebration of her life.  It will be an opportunity to support one another in our loss across the Faith boundaries.

We do hope you will be able to join us at the Dor Kemmyn Peace Field, Penmount, Truro TR4 9AA – Sunday, 18th September at 2.00 pm. The Autumn Equinox will follow from this (as below):

Autumn Equinox Celebration at the Dor Kemmyn Peace Field, Penmount, Truro.  Eve Salthouse, from the Pagan Community writes:  Autumn Equinox, (sometimes called Mabon or, for Druids, Alban Elfed), marks the final end of Summer and the start of Autumn. This year it occurs on September 23rd.

At  Autumn Equinox, the day and the night are of equal length. We are entering the dark half of the year, and from this moment onwards, the nights will grow longer, and the days will diminish.

At the Equinox, light and dark, day and night, are in perfect balance. During this time we seek the balance in our own lives. We reflect on those things which cause imbalance, that we need to cast away. We think about what upholds the balance in our lives, and how we can nurture this.

We give thanks for all we have harvested this summer and we think about the seeds we will plant during the coming dark time of the year which will grow in the Spring.
