Endorsements

‘We are privileged to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, but we also know that the picture postcard view of our region is only half the story. God calls us to serve the people and communities of the South-West with joy. I hope this day of prayer and reflection will equip and encourage us to reach out hands of friendship in the name of Jesus Christ.’

Rt Revd Robert Atwell | Lord Bishop of Exeter

‘There is no more important task for today’s church than to be effectively shaped for the mission to which our God calls us, so I’m really looking forward to this day when we’ll gather together and reflect just how we may best love and serve this wonderful place to which we are both called and sent.’

Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen | Bishop of Truro

Any event that seeks to ‘revitalise the church to bless the region’ has to be a good thing. The church has always existed for both those within and those outside. We are no good to one if we neglect the other. There is also something profoundly significant and important about church leaders meeting and praying together. I wholeheartedly commend this event to any church leaders.

Revd Preb James Grier | Plymouth Bishop Elect

‘I love to see church leaders feeling encouraged, strengthened and envisioned in their life, faith and ministry as together we seek to serve and encourage our local congregations and communities. My hope and prayer is that we see the Church grow in life, depth and confidence across our region to help everyday people discover the fulness of life that God offers in all of life.’

Revd Olly Ryder | Vicar St Matts Plymouth + Leader Love South West

‘I am deeply expectant that the Spirit of God is already at work in our world, and always looking for ways to enter into the mission of life and hope in the name of Jesus. Ed Stetzer is a leader who has carried tremendous missional impact, deep faithfulness, genuine humour, and true expectancy. I’m looking forward to learning with him about how we stay attentive to the already and ongoing missional work of God.’

Canon Sarah Yardley | Mission Lead Creation Fest

‘Mission is at the heart of our calling as Christians and our training and formation at SWMTC. We look forward to an exciting day of prayer and reflection about God’s mission in the South West.’

Revd Dr Mark Butcher | Principal of the South West Ministry Training Course

‘Jesus loves His Church. And it’s always on His heart to see His church renewed and revitalised through the creation of new Christian communities. Dr Ed Stetzer really is one of the big guns when it comes to helping the church engage in this mission.’

Revd Dr James Harding | Director St Mellitus College South West

‘Here at SWYM one of values is about seeking to be a Kingdom focussed movement. We want to focus our attention on the bigger picture of God’s Kingdom. Mornings like this enable us to gather and remind ourselves of God’s advancing and growing Kingdom and our call to participate in the Mission of God as His Church in all its variety and beauty. Our prayer is that God would fill us up and send us out to every corner of the region and to every generation, in the power of His Spirit.’

Paul Friend | Director South West Youth Ministries

‘We are delighted to support this opportunity for churches to bless the region in unity, with a heart for mission and service:’
