Macmillan and Age UK offer training and support to all group leaders, staff and volunteers who are in contact with people affected by cancer.

According to Cancer Research UK around 50% of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. Many more of us will be family carers, friends, neighbours, colleagues and supporters.

The Age UK partnership with Macmillan seeks to train key people in community organisations to feel confident to speak to someone affected by cancer and to have knowledge of the support available to signpost the person.

You may have a look at our Campaign page on Cornwall Link https://cornwall-link.co.uk/campaign/4Cs.

We have training dates for Sept and again in November, January and March. The current training is online, so can be accessed by anyone from their own home. Please contact Mary.Austin@ageukcornwall.org.uk or kerstin@ageukcornwall.org.uk for an inivitation.

We also offer a drop-in, where we bring a range of information from Macmillan for people to pick up and have a chat about their particular needs. Please note that our help is non-clinical. We would encourage people to contact their medical team for medical concerns.
