We want to bring businesses, organisations and community groups together to address the question ‘when everything is so global, what can I do?’

Join us online for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly – Let’s talk Climate Action event
We hope you will be able to join us at our Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Let’s talk Climate Action event on Monday 8 November, 10am to 2pm.

Our event is an official COP26 Regional Roadshow and we will be sharing messages from Alok Sharma President of COP26, and Nigel Topping UK High Level Climate Action Champion for the COP26 UN climate talks.

Cllr Martyn Alvey, Cornwall Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change will be hosting the live online event. With Kate Kennally Chief Executive of Cornwall Council, Cllr Steve Watt Council of the Isles of Scilly Lead Member for Environment and Climate Change, and Paul Masters Chief Executive of the Council of the Isles of Scilly joining him.

The keynote address will be from Monty Halls, whose recent BBC TV series ‘Fisherman’s Apprentice’ was filmed in Cornwall while he lived and worked with Cadgwith fishermen.  Monty is a marine biologist who is passionate about climate change and has a huge affinity with Cornwall and will set a tone of passion and urgency for the event.
We want our event to bring together businesses, organisations, local councils and community groups to address the question ‘when everything is so global, what can I do?’ As the United Nations meet at COP26 to accelerate world action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement, we need everyone to commit to act on climate change and create further momentum for action here in Cornwall.

Through six themed, inspirational discussions between informed speakers and passionate and engaged local advocates, the event will highlight the issues of climate change and what action we can all take to reduce our carbon impact.
Our guest speakers include Stuart Roberts, deputy president of the NFU; Steffen Boehm, professor of organisation and sustainability at University of Exeter Business School; Caroline Drummond MBE, chief executive of Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF); Amanda Forman, co-founder of Planet A Solutions; Lord Robin Teverson, Chair of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership; and Matt Hocking from Leap Design.
