On Wednesday 8 February 2023 CAP (Christians Against Poverty) is holding a call to prayer event in London (also live streamed online) which will bring together Christians, church leaders and sympathetic politicians from across the nations. Together we will pray in lament for UK poverty, particularly in light of the cost of living crisis. This will involve three afternoon seminars (including a talk by CTE’s Bishop Mike Royal) and an evening prayer gathering.

  • 8 February 2023, Westminster Chapel, London
  • Focused Sessions & Prayer at 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm
  • Evening call to prayer event at 7pm

CAP explains: “Over the autumn more than 160 churches have been reflecting on the theme ‘Lament to Hope’ and asking how God is calling them to respond to UK poverty. Hundreds of people have written and sent us their own prayers of lament for UK poverty.  We want to hold and pray those prayers together, to invite more, and declare our belief in the power of our God to change us, and the situation. We hope that this event will powerfully show a visible and distinctive Christian response to the cost of living crisis.”
