Cornwall has an increasing number of overseas workers who are vital to our economy in many areas such as agriculture, hospitality and care and health sectors. How can we as a church be aware of the needs of such workers, accept them as part of our communities and extend a real welcome, just as if they were from Newcastle or Totnes?
This session will offer an opportunity to hear first-hand from people who have had this experience. Their story contains both good and worrying elements.
Ten years ago the Diocese of Truro partnered with Bridging Arts to run a successful project to support churches seeking to respond to migrant workers. We will be looking to see how these and new materials can be used to think through the challenges and opportunities in this area for 2020. Lots of practical tips and resource ideas on offer.
