Join the Global Climate Strike
The youth climate strike movement is calling for everyone, young and old, to stand in solidarity and mobilise alongside them for the Global Climate Strike. On the 20th September, the youth strike will take to the streets in hundreds of towns and cities across the UK and around the world to demand the change we need.
Christian Aid has decided to support that call and encourage its partners and supporters to join the mobilisations happening around the world.
Christian Aid’s official statement of support is here: https://www.christianaid.org.uk/campaigns/climate-change/christian-aid-position-global-climate-strikes
As partner in the fight against poverty we encourage you and your churches to support the Global Climate Strikes however you can. We recognise this may not be by actively going ‘on strike’ and that people in precarious employment or frontline services do not necessarily have this privilege. The Youth Strike Movement provide some guidance on how else people in work can support them.
Please use any available opportunities to spread the word about the climate strike and find out more at globalclimatestrike.net or via the Facebook event page.
