Thursday 14th November 2024, 2pm-4pm, via Zoom (British time).
Jacques Delors forged a vision of a united Europe. He was an ardent advocate of post-war European integration and profoundly shaped the European Union that exists today. He served as President of the European Commission for three terms, from January 1985 until the end of 1994. Jacques Delors died on 27 December 2023 at the age of 98.
Frank-Dieter Fischbach is the recently appointed General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches. Frank-Dieter will help us look at the contemporary scene in relation to Delors’ vision. We will ask how far has or hasn’t it been achieved, and is it still capable of being achieved in today’s setting?
