Summertime in Cornwall can only mean one thing – festival season!
Cornwall’s Creation Fest returns this year with an announcement of the theme: Rhythms of Faith for the summer gathering from 3-6 August 2023 at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre. The festival music stages will feature acts including Josh Garrels, Orphan No More, Philippa Hanna, Moses Brothers, Rich and Lydia Dicas, Zach and Abby Vestnys, Josh Curnow, Our Atlantic Roots, and many more. International speakers and communicators include Amy Orr-Ewing, Josh White, Glen Scrivener, and Tim Chaddick exploring what it looks like to live with faith in the 21st century. A full families programme will run alongside the music and speaking content led by Imagine Ministries and a custom-built, free-to-attend undercover skate park draws hundreds of skaters each day.
New features for 2023 include a large-scale elephant in partnership with Compassion International, an escape room in partnership with MAF, a gaming centre and competition hosted by Chillblast, and an evening Got Questions series for youth hosted by Alpha UK.
A key distinctive of this Christian festival has been the commitment to keep day visitor tickets free. The festival is also working with Christians Against Poverty, which offers debt counselling and support for individuals in need.
Mission Lead Sarah Yardley says, “Our lives are formed by countless small decisions. We choose where we shop, what we wear, how we worship. Each of these decisions is shaping the person we become. This year, we’ll be exploring what it means to walk in rhythms of faith in our daily lives as we dance, skate, play, sing, listen, learn, explore, laugh, love.”
