Truro Cathedral, St Mary’s St, Truro TR1 2AF

Christmas is a special time of year when thoughts turn to spending time with friends and family. It is a time for joy and laughter. But for some, it can also be a time of great sadness when remembering loved ones who are no longer with us. Light Up A Life brings people together to remember the joy and laughter shared with those now lost.

For many, Light Up A Life signals the start of the festive season. As it approaches this year, we are reminded that no matter how busy our lives are, sometimes we need to take some time to reflect on what’s important to us and to remember those we have loved and cared for.

This year, Light Up A Life returns to Truro Cathedral and we are delighted to be able to welcome you to remember with us, together. For those who are unable to attend in person, you can still be a part of this beautiful and unique celebration, as for the first time, the service will be broadcast live, online, from the cathedral.

The moving candlelit service will again be led by Reverend Canon Alan Bashforth and will include readings from our hospice nurses, music by a local Choir and a moment of silence to remember. Your dedications to loved ones lost will feature during the service and gradually, we will light a candle for each and every loved one we are remembering until the Cathedral is full of light with the love of friends and families brought together in spirit.

A special evening of remembrance, together.

For more information regarding the book of remembrance please visit the Cornwall Hospice Care website.

The service will broadcast live on our YouTube Channel, at 7.00PM on Sunday 5th December. Afterwards, the video will remain online to view whenever you need the comfort it will offer.
