This month sees Challenge Poverty Week between Oct 14 and 20. Cornwall Poverty Forum encourages social action projects to send in a photo of projects in action with a copy of the attached poster prominently in the image. We are flexible about the dates and in Cornwall we treat it as Challenge Poverty Month throughout October!

So if there are examples of your church and /or individuals in your church who through acting out their Christian faith are involved in actions where poverty in Cornwall is being challenged then please could you ask them to take their phone out and take a picture showing this activity with a copy of attached poster.
Then send in to info@cornwallindependentpovertyforum.com (and perhaps share on your own social media ) with a sentence about where, who and how they are challenging poverty And maybe also a quote from a service user and/or volunteer. Then we will make sure they are included in this year’s CPW report.
This is especially important this year for groups with a faith connection because of the Faith Covenant between Cornwall Council and Churches Together in Cornwall and Cornwall Faith Forum that is to be signed in November. One of the elements of the covenant is around faith based social action, so using CPW 2024 as a way of highlighting the examples of churches and faith groups ‘making a difference’ is very important linking into this covenant.
