Join us for an online Advent retreat with Richard Carter, Malcolm Guite, Rachel Mann, Mark Oakley and Carys Walsh, in association with Canterbury Press.

Opening worship
Richard Carter, priest at St Martin-in-the-Fields in central London and leader of its Nazareth Community, he is author of The City is My Monastery: A Contemporary Rule of Life. Music from St Martin-in-the-Fields.

An introduction to the season of Advent
Mark Oakley, Dean of St John’s College Cambridge. His books include The Splash of Words and My Sour-Sweet Days.

‘Bleak Midwinters, Advent Hope’: Travelling towards Bethlehem with Christina Rossetti
Rachel Mann, published poet and author with a PhD on the poetry of Christina Rossetti. Her latest poetry collection is A Kingdom of Love.

‘Let me go there’: R. S. Thomas’ Advent God
Carys Walsh has worked in ministerial selection and formation for many years, including in the Ministry Division of the Church of England, as a psychotherapist, as a tutor in Christian Spirituality at St Mellitus, and in the Diocese of Peterborough, where she is also an assistant priest.

Malcolm Guite, poet, singer-songwriter and writer of the Church Times Poet’s Corner column.
