A Cornwall-wide Call to Prayer for the G7 Summit : 6 Jun, ONLINE

June 6, 2021 | 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

In 1 Tim 2v2 Paul instructed Timothy to pray “for Kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and (quite) quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”.

When Cornwall was announced as the venue for the meeting of the G7 national leaders, a few of us felt that the Body of Christ has a responsibility to welcome the visiting leaders and to pray that their decisions would be honouring to God and conducive to the gospel.

Around 15 from all over Cornwall have met with Derek Thomas the MP for St Ives every Friday since February to pray the preparations and all involved with the G7.

As we get closer to the event itself we are conscious that many others have been and will want to pray as well.  So on Sunday 6th June 7pm – 9pm there will be an opportunity for the church in Cornwall and beyond, from whatever background, to come together for united prayer.

We hope this will resonate with you and invite you to encourage as many as possible to respond to the call to pray for the G7 via a Zoom link provided by Derek Thomas MP.

This will include led and guided prayers with a couple of breakout sessions so all can have an opportunity to pray but without pressure.

Some will remember the week of prayer “Praying together for Cornwall” in 2003 when hundreds came together at various venues.  It seems not without significance that we used Tregenna Castle, St Ives (one of the venues for the G7) for an amazing 2 day prayer conference attended over 200.

That was a special time; let’s make this G7 event an opportunity for an even more significant expression of Kingdom unity in prayer here in Cornwall. Please put this in your diaries and encourage others to join us.

Yours in His Service,

Phil Rodda
