Working with young people can be both rewarding and draining. In this session, we’ll discuss how to safeguard your mental health and practice self-care when working with trauma-exposed youth. Come along to reflect on physical, relational and spiritual wellbeing.
Why Attend?
- Gain practical self-care strategies tailored to your role.
- Learn how trauma impacts your work and your well-being.
- Connect with a community of like-minded individuals in mission and youth work.
Self-Care for Youth Workers will focus on equipping youth workers with the tools to maintain their own well-being while working with young people, many of whom may have experienced trauma. You’ll learn about the unique emotional challenges that arise in youth work, how to recognize signs of burnout, and develop effective boundaries to sustain your energy and passion. The webinar will also cover practical self-care techniques tailored to youth work, such as stress management, reflective practices, and how to access support networks when needed. This session is designed to help you thrive in your role while ensuring you’re able to give your best to the young people you serve.
The training will introduce content from our newest resource, a 45 page journal/workbook, facilitating learning and reflection on self-care for youth workers and teams. This will be the best way to implement and continue the learning from the webinar.
You will have the chance to purchase a physical copy of the journal during the webinar, which has been produced in partnership with Missional Generation and CIYD.
Dare to take time out of your busy week to invest in your future effectiveness!
