Each year we hold an event to bring our community together to think about the ways in which we can support our ambition for zero suicides in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
This year’s Towards Zero event will take place on Wednesday 13 November, 9am to 4pm in the Pavilion Conference Centre, at Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge.
The theme for this year’s event is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”. The event is shaping up to be an interesting and hopeful day with presentations and workshops from Sunrise, Active Plus and Healthy Cornwall, as well as talks around the Language of Suicide, the VCSE Postvention Protocol and inspirational people with lived experience of suicide.
Thank you to everyone who completed the questionnaire to help with the planning of this year’s event. Your views are very important to us and will be used to inform the planning for the event. The agenda is being finalised but will include presentations and workshops from Sunrise, Active Plus and Healthy Cornwall with wellbeing activities and breaks throughout the day. There will also be information around the Language of Suicide, VCSE Postvention Protocol and inspirational people with lived experience of suicide. In addition to this there will also be a “Marketplace” of organisations with a wealth of advice and information.
We all have a role to play in reducing the stigma around mental health and in developing the services and support that will make a real difference in people’s lives.
During the event refreshments of tea/coffee and a light lunch will be provided.
Parking is free and adjacent to the Pavilion Conference Centre.
