25th October 2024 7.30-9.30pm
On–site and live streamed, New College, Mound Place, Edinburgh.
Facilitated by Simeon Mitchell and Paul Morrison.
Our current economic model is causing immense harm to both people and planet, yet we’re told there is no alternative to a system that leaves billions in poverty and Creation in crisis.
In this lecture we will be exposing some of the unsustainable assumptions that lie at the heart of current economic approaches, and by drawing on the Bible alongside examples of local initiatives that challenge conventional economic thinking, we will explore how we can all play a part in building an economy that enables the flourishing of all life.
Simeon Mitchell and Paul Morrison are from the Joint Public Issues Team, which helps the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches to work together for peace and justice.
