In support of Challenge Poverty Week and this year’s theme of housing and homelessness, the Cornwall Independent Poverty Forum, the Living Wage Place for Cornwall Action Group and the University of Exeter in Cornwall invite you to an event:

Housing & Homelessness in Cornwall: from Prevention to Provision
Date: Thursday 24th October 2024

Time: 9.30 arrival for registration and light refreshments. Start 10am -12 noon
Venue: Trevithick Room, Environment and Sustainability Institute, University of Exeter Penryn campus (in person)

Hosting the event is Dr Harry Pitts, Senior Lecturer in Politics, Director of Business Engagement & Innovation for Humanities & Social Sciences, University of Exeter in Cornwall and Simon Fann, Chair of the Living Wage Place Group and Manager of Truro Foodbank.

We welcome our experienced panel of speakers who will each talk on an aspect of housing and homelessness in Cornwall:

Rosie Emmanuel – Homelessness Prevention Officer
Claire Arymar – Roughsleeper Resettlement Officer
Malcolm Williams – Institute of Cornish Studies
Sadie Fulton & Ines Lage – TUC South West
Allister Young – CEO, Coastline Housing

This will be followed by an open forum discussion and questions with the panel.

Parking is available on campus and a code for free parking will be provided at the event.

This event is funded by the Entrepreneurial Futures project, a £5.6m investment in research, development and innovation (RD&I) activity for businesses based in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly led by the University of Exeter. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
