Community Vigil in Launceston

A community vigil was held in Launceston Square on 9 Aug at 8pm as a response to recent civil unrest.

There were about 45 people from all the denominations in the town – this was good, considering the short notice given to everyone.

There were prayers from those moved to pray to the assembled group and some hymns were sung, with musical accompaniment from Rev David Miller (Methodist Superintendent) on his clarinet

Candles were lit and the congregation was split into 4 groups, who were asked to go to the 4 corners of the Square for more prayers within each group.

Partcipants then reassembled for the final hymn and blessing.
