Youth Worker based at Bude Methodist Church, Cornwall
Salary £22,000 – £24,000 p/a
37.5 hours per week
3 year fixed term contract
We are a progressive, vibrant & welcoming Church with a growing congregation, situated beside the sea in the beautiful town of Bude.
It is our vision to find a passionate, dynamic youth worker to expand & develop the youth work within the church, who also has the desire & gifting to reach out to the young people in our local community, sharing God’s transforming love with them.
We are looking for someone with experience in working with young people, who is innovative, enthusiastic & able to work independently or with the support of volunteers. The job role will be based at Bude Methodist Church but the successful candidate will be required to work around the rural circuit where required, therefore a full, clean driving licence & own transport are essential.
Aims of the role
- Building on our existing work of discipling the youth & young adults in the church & circuit
- Establishing new groups
- Working with the local community college, youth hubs & the wider community
To be successful you must have a strong pastoral heart, have the ability to engage with young people in a relevant way, on their level; be able to manage your own workload & initiate new ideas, and have a recognised youth work qualification & a good theological understanding.
