Vacancy: Part time youth worker

Do you have a passion for sharing the gospel with young people? Would you be keen to encourage young people to be confident to live for Jesus? We are looking for someone who will help us run our youth activities drawing people from across several Anglican churches in Truro.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • assist with co-ordinating and leading the youth groups.
  • lead by example and help to manage the different teams of volunteers.
  • assist with the work of developing our ministry towards families and youth. We want to be a church that is developing how we engage, reach out to and disciple young people and families.
  • work alongside the Minister for St Kea.

The role is well supported, and is part of a close-knit staff team, with monthly supervision, training provision as appropriate, and regular staff meetings.

As the post is based within a gospel-teaching Christian church, the post-holder will be required to understand and appreciate the Christian faith in order to carry out the role, and full safer recruitment process (including a DBS check) will be required as the post-holder will be working with children.

Hours: 10 hours per week, spread across the week. Working days are negotiable to some extent though there are two evenings where the applicant would need to be available.

This post is initially funded until the end of 2024 with possible extension of the role beyond this.

A full role description can be downloaded from our vacancies page. Please email hughb@stkea.org.uk if you have any questions or to find out more.
