Rise Up & Serve: A Song to Celebrate the Platinum Jubilee

Commonwealth Choir & Friends

Song writers: Graham Kendrick, Mal Pope and Rend Collective

A new anthem ‘Rise Up and Serve’ has been commissioned by HOPE Together and partners, and written by song writers Graham Kendrick, Mal Pope and the contemporary worship band Rend Collective.

Your choir can start to practise this new song for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which honours the Queen’s 70 years of faith and service. You can also bring your community together to sing the anthem at street parties and special events over the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.

Several choirs have recorded a version of this specially-written Platinum Jubilee anthem. The official version will be released on YouTube featuring choirs from around the world. The video will be produced by Les Moir from the Word & Worship Trust who played a significant role in bringing together The UK Blessing, which has been watched by nearly 5 million people.

Use the video of the Commonwealth Choir at your Platinum Jubilee events. The Commonwealth Choir includes British Gospel singer Muyiwa Olarewaju OBE, who adds his own words of tribute to the Queen in Hausa, Swahli, Igbo and Yoruba, the Aldgate School Children’s Choir led by Pat Bilbrough, Rend Collective from Northern Ireland, Darlene Zschech from Australia, Brian Doerksen from Canada, Mal Pope and the Morriston Orpheus Choir from Wales, Morris Matavuvale from Fiji, Sheldon Bangera from India, as well as Voices from the Nations percussion, the All Souls Orchestra, the Regent Hall Band of The Salvation Army, David Grant MBE, Graham Kendrick, Lou Fellingham, and Sounds of New Wine choir with Creative Director Lawrence Johnson.
