A prayer for voters, as we see and hear about the General Election on the news, and as candidates, churches and individuals prepare to engage.
Be with us as we consider the options
weigh the arguments
and assess the claims and the candidates.
But also prompt us to listen:
to the voices on the margins
to the cry of the earth
and to those who reach a different conclusion to us.
God, we pray that you would
stimulate our minds
stir our hearts
and sanctify our choosing.
Help us also to remember
your command to love our neighbours
both during and after this election.
Amen

A prayer for Laudato Si’ Week 2024 (May 19-26)
This year’s Laudato Si’ Week theme is inspired by the symbol for Season of Creation 2024, “firstfruits.” Let us be seeds of hope in our lives and our world, rooted in faith and love.
A Prayer for the Care of our Planet
O Earth, source of life and beauty,
we ask your forgiveness for the damage we have caused
and we promise to care for you with love and respect.
Give us the strength and wisdom
to take concrete actions that will protect your fragility
and promote harmony among all living beings.
May our hands be instruments of healing and restoration,
and may our decisions reflect
a deep commitment to your well-being
and that of generations to come. Amen.

A prayer for VE day (8 May)
Lord God our Father,
we pledge ourselves to serve you and all humankind,
in the cause of peace,
for the relief of want and suffering,
and for the praise of your name.
Guide us by your Spirit;
give us wisdom;
give us courage;
give us hope;
and keep us faithful now and always.
Amen.

Lord,
Rev Malcolm Duncan
When I feel weak, please be my strength.
When I am weary, be my rest.
When I am anxious, be my peace.
When I am sad, be my joy.
When I am lonely, be my companion.
When I am gripped by doubt, give me faith.
When I miss my family, sit with me.
When I am in pain, be my healer.
When I am impatient, be my patience.
When I am confused, still me.
When I am angry, soothe me.
When I feel broken, hold me.
When the future feels uncertain, keep my eyes on you.
When the waves crash in, lift me up.
When the storms rage, calm the waves.
When my heart is broken, mend me.
In everything be my all in all.
I need you more than I can say
But thank you that you love me more than I could ever understand.
You are my enough.
Let me rest in your rest
And stand in your strength
Amen
