Geothermal Engineering are having an open day at the United Downs Geothermal Power Project
Two sessions, 10-11am or 12.30-1.30pm. Free but booking essential
Geothermal Engineering Ltd (GEL) are a world-leading company working on the development of deep geothermal heat and power projects. Situated near Redruth in Cornwall (UK), the project has now proven that harnessing geothermal energy is possible in the UK, encountering temperatures and fluid flow rates that are capable of driving a steam turbine to generate electricity. By mid-2023 it is estimated that the power plant will generate between 1 and 3 MW of electricity.
GEL are aiming these 45 minute sessions at the local community. Attendees will be given a short presentation, an opportunity to view posters and displays, view the site from the viewing platform and enjoy free refreshments.
Children are very welcome and we will have a specific area for them to relax and learn. 12 years and older must have a valid Eventbrite booking. 11 years and younger will not require booking, however must be accompanied by an adult who has booked.
Parking is on the street, please do not block access gates to other businesses. Thank you.
