The Treylva Collective, Breselor Ensemble & Cornwall Concert Orchestra : 27 Apr, Redruth

April 27, 2024 | 7:00 pm
Redruth Methodist Church, Higher Fore St, Redruth TR15 2EG

The Treylva Collective, the Breselor Ensemble & the Cornwall Concert Orchestra celebrate 10 years of Cornish National Minority Status. Cornwall’s most passionate singer songwriters (Ben Sutcliffe, Angeline Morrison, Rosie Vanier, Martin Skews, Elizabeth Freeborn, Dan Woodfield, Annie Baylis and Will Keating) are teaming up with an orchestra to celebrate the Cornish language as an ancient source and as a living, breathing, part of our Cornish heritage and culture. This is a unique and historic performance not to be missed!

Background:

Three members of the Treylva Collective met at the Endelienta Cornish language residency two years ago. We dreamt of one day making a compilation album of original music that uses only the Cornish language. Since those days we have met many amazing, professional musicians in Cornwall who are as impassioned about this project as we were. Ben Sutcliffe, Angeline Morrison, Rosie Vanier, Martin Skews, Elizabeth Freeborn, Dan Woodfield, Annie Baylis and Will Keating have teamed up with Cornish Language speaker and poet Fiona O’Cleirigh to bring the Treylva Collective to life.

This project has been supported by Cornwall Council, Endelienta Arts and Lowender CIO
