This webinar will outline some key issues faced by single people in church, and offer practical solutions for your church to become more accessible and welcoming to the 40% of UK adults who are single. Becoming single friendly is easier than you think – and we’ll tell you how!
We’ll introduce you to our 5 Steps programme, a simple step-by-step guide to making positive changes in your church. Churches who go on to complete our 5 Steps Audit will be invited to become an official Single Friendly Church and appear on our map of UK churches.
Single Friendly Church is a campaign for all churches to be places where single people feel welcomed, valued and included. More information can be found on our website.
Why should you attend?
The rise in singleness in the UK is a major societal shift (40% of UK adults and rising). Yet many single people feel overlooked or excluded by churches, to the point where some stop attending altogether. With current social distancing regulations, you may begin to notice just how many people are (or aren’t!) attending your church on their own.
Loneliness is also an increasingly important social issue, and lockdown measures mean that thousands of people have gone months without physical touch or possibly meaningful connection of any kind. It is more important than ever that we work towards building welcoming church communities that include and value everyone, especially those feeling isolated at this time.

It is aimed at those in church leadership but anyone is welcome to attend.
If you are not a leader in your church, we advise that you inform your church about the webinar and follow up with them afterwards. If you want to become a Single Friendly Church, you’ll need them on board!
