Churches and Church members can make an important contribution to education by inviting school groups to visit their buildings, or by offering to speak in RE lessons.

Since September RE Hubs have been offering FREE training for anyone who hosts visits to their church, or who visits schools to speak about their faith. The training only lasts 90 minutes, and takes place online.

Those who attend and then sign an agreement around the key principles are then given a RE Hubs Kite-mark, that they can use on their website, or on letters that they use with schools and universities and SCITTS. The Kite-mark lasts for 2 years and we hope those who have done the training will want to come back after that time to be re-accredited.

Please circulate the information round your churches and encourage them to support their local schools.

The new RE Hubs project for England and Wales brings together subject associations for RE (Areiac, AULRE, CStG, NASACRE, NATRE, REC, TRS-UK) to make connections between teachers, faith and belief communities, research communities and other stakeholders. Claire Clinton is the director director@re-hubs.uk and is working with 9 Hub Leads in England and 1 in Wales to establish an effective network to support Religious Education in schools and colleges.
