FoRēL Webinar: Young Women of Faith in our Secular and Pluralistic World : 23 Nov, ONLINE

Inspired by CEC’s virtual Summer School on Human Rights, FoRēL, a network of European and North American women will hold a webinar on “Young Women of Faith in our Secular and Pluralistic World” on 23 November 2020, 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM CET.

This webinar is the first in a series of interfaith conversations by and for women where we seek to learn from each other and encourage one another through transformative conversation – for real! Charles Taylor defines secularity not simply as a lack of religious belief, but instead as a complex societal paradigm shift; a new context in which all experiences of both belief and unbelief take place. As women from different faith traditions, we want to explore together what our faiths mean to us in the modern world. Our experiences and perspectives will almost certainly be different. Indeed, thatʼs the point!

Panel discussion with:

  • Kieryn Wurts – European Baptist Federation
  • Hajar Al-Kaddo – Dublin City Interfaith Forum
  • Lea Schlenker – Lutheran Theologian in Germany
  • Spyridoula Fotinis – Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America
  • Natia Tsintsadze – World Student Christian Federation

What is FoRēL?

Women. Interfaith. Real Conversations. We are young women of different faith traditions from Europe and North America. We believe that our societies need more female leaders – for real! We open up spaces to listen to women and their experiences as leaders, to engage in real conversations, and to connect. Join us in launching a new platform for Female Religious Leaders and for all those who support us. Tell us about your experiences. Become a part of Female Religious Leaders – FoRēL! FoRēL was inspired by a meeting of young women at 2020 CEC Summer School on Human Rights.
