Fifth Folk-Carol Concert : 5 Dec, Paul

December 5, 2021 | 7:00 pm
Paul Church, Mousehole Ln, Penzance TR19 6TY

No charge but booking essential: please email the organisers if you are coming

After a very difficult two years we are finally able to make music again and our Choir and Orchestra would like to invite you to join us (and take part) in another of our big Christmas celebrations – this time in Advent – December 5th.

We have the usual mix of traditional and folk carols, Christmas pieces by Bach, Holst and Lawes, beautiful medieval english carols, humorous pieces with audience participation, and several new compositions. We are well into the rehearsals and are sure you will enjoy the music as much as we do.

The concert is FREE but, as many of you know, we use these concerts to raise funds each year for different refugee charities; this year John Pontifex of A.C.N. will say a few words during the interval about their work supporting thousands of Syrian refugees – and the victims of the Beirut explosion.

Previous years have drawn capacity audiences so to help with planning the catering (mulled wine / mince pies) and printing (programmes) we would be very grateful if you could let us know if you can attend so that we have enough to go round.

You are also invited to join us in dressing up if you feel inspired? There were some impressive turnouts last time. Think ‘Poldark’ or ‘Dickens’.

We are asking everyone to join the performers in having a lateral flow test before attending the concert.

All best wishes

Russell Blacker
