Falmouth, various locations

In conjunction with Falmouth & Penryn Churches Together, Marten Holmes from OAC Ministries and colleagues from GNE (Good News for Everyone, formerly The Gideons) will be co-ordinating a Tall Ships outreach to visitors and mariners in Falmouth.

Marten writes:
This is the first time the Tall Ships have visited Falmouth since 2014 when I joined a team at the outreach. Sadly my 2 fellow evangelists who organised the previous outreach, Alan Offord and Phil Misselbrook, have gone to be with the Lord. In the absence of anyone from Falmouth to head up the outreach I am leading street teams at the event.
Falmouth sees a massive influx of visitors so we will have a team on the dockside giving out a specially produced gospel leaflet to those queuing to visit the ships.
We have 5000 leaflets to give away in 4 days so please pray for decent weather and for energy for the team.

We will also have a team from Good News for Everyone (formerly Gideon’s) who will be approaching the ships and trying to get permission to offer the crews a special edition of the New Testament.
Please pray for favour on them as they try to get permission to go onboard.
We’ve been blessed with a couple of gifts to pay towards both of these events but please pray that the books will balance at the end.

During the event, King Charles the Martyr Church and Falmouth Methodist Church will be providing cream teas at Fairwinds Community Hub, 33 Church St, on Wed 16 Aug, and Emmanuel Baptist Church will be offering refreshments outside their church prior to the Parade of Sail on Fri 18 Aug.
