Truro Cathedral is hosting a display of eight decades of images and campaign posters illustrating the work of Christian Aid in vulnerable communities around the world.

The exhibition runs from Monday, November 10-Sunday, November 16 and reflects the changing messaging over the years, highlighting the importance of Christian Aid’s continuing work, in partnership with communities of all faiths and none, providing emergency aid and supporting longer-term projects.

On Sunday, November 16, at 10am, Dr Frances Clemson will be speaking at the main Eucharist service, explaining in more detail about the organisation’s aims and current projects. This will be followed by a bring and share lunch.

The Very Rev’d Simon Robinson, Dean of Truro, said all are welcome to come along to the service and exhibition.

He added: “Christian Aid was founded by British and Irish churches shortly after the end of World War Two, to give aid to refugees in Europe. The images and posters show how the call for justice has been communicated through design, photography and slogans.

“Although global poverty can seem overwhelming, it’s important to recognise the work which has been done over the years and the difference that has made, and still makes, in communities around the world.

“We look forward to seeing lots of people come along to find out more about Christian Aid and its local partners – and how they themselves can get involved.”
