What does hope look like in the face of persecution?
Created by a group of courageous Christian women from Nigeria, these self-portraits were painted as part of a trauma healing programme after they experienced violent attacks for their faith. Many include golden tears — a striking symbol of how God can bring hope, dignity and healing out of deep pain.
Alongside their own artwork, you’ll see beautiful portraits by British artist @hannahrosethomas, who worked with the women to honour their stories through art.
This free Tears of Gold exhibition is part of the @OpenDoorsUK See. Change. campaign, which shines a light on the unique persecution faced by Christian women around the world.
