Elizabeth II: a Life of Service

We ask you to join us in memory of Queen Elizabeth II who died peacefully yesterday with her family.

We remember her as the longest serving British monarch and one who pledged her life in service to the people. “I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

The Queen made many visits to Cornwall over the years, a lot of which she shared with her husband Prince Philip who died last year. Her quiet fortitude, dignity and resilience felt like stability in an otherwise changing world. Her selfless dedication to her role was incredible. She was always on duty. Her country came first.

Cornwall VSF, like thousands of charities across the country, is deeply grateful to Her Majesty for her tireless commitment to so many charitable causes and helping those in need.

Along with the rest of the country, the UK and the Commonwealth, with heavy hearts we pay tribute to her incredible life. Her example of duty and service is a lesson to us all as we move into life without her.

Respect.
