Churches Together in Cornwall offers free web hosting for local CT groups

As part of the ongoing development of its infoHub portal for news and events, Churches Together in Cornwall is now able to offer free web hosting for local Churches Together and similar groups who affiliate to Churches Together in Cornwall.

Local groups can now have their own dedicated page or suite of pages on the infoHub website, with their own branding, menus and content. These sub-sites can be accessed from the main CTC site via the new ‘Local Sites’ tab, at the right-hand end of the main menu.

The first group to take advantage of this is Falmouth & Penryn Churches Together, and their site can be seen by following the ‘FPCT’ link under the Local Sites tab, or going direct to www.ctcinfohub.org/fpct. The former url, www.falmouthchurchestogether.org.uk also still works, redirecting automatically to the new site.

Although local sites are self-contained, they are also part of the main infoHub so content is fully searchable and browsable by those viewing the main site, thus greatly expanding the potential audience for local material while preserving local identity. Local sites can also, if desired, display the latest posts from the group’s social media sites if available.

If you would like to set up something similar for your own group, either as a new facility or a transfer of an existing one, do get in touch with Roger Mills on ctcinfohub@gmail.com to discuss your requirements and how best they might be met. Apart form the normal affiliation fee of £20p.a., which includes public liability insurance for locally-arranged events, there is no charge for this facility. CTC will look after site maintenance, and the local group will be responsible for its own content and keeping it up-to-date. Content can be provided in various ways as convenient; local editors can be provided with access to the WordPress site to enter their own content if desired, or material can be emailed to ctcinfohub@gmail.com and we will post it for you.

Content can also be submitted via a new ‘Submit a post’ form, accessed via a link in the footer of every page on the infoHub web site. This allows you to submit text and illustrations on a form which will then automatically create a draft post, which we will then make live after final editing. No technical expertise required! It can be used to submit material for the main infoHub as well as local sites. Why not try it out?
