Disability Awareness Sunday โ€“ 28 September 2025

Churches across the UK are invited to take part in Disability Awareness Sunday on 28 September 2025. This day highlights the importance of inclusion, understanding, and valuing disabled people within the life of the church and wider community.

The theme for 2025 is โ€œMade in Godโ€™s Imageโ€, inspired by 1 Samuel 16:7, which reminds us that God sees beyond outward appearances and values every individual for who they are. Itโ€™s a powerful reminder that all peopleโ€”regardless of abilityโ€”are created in Godโ€™s image and are integral to His plan.

Through the Roof, a Christian charity dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and additional needs, has prepared a range of helpful resources for churches wishing to mark the day. These include:

  • A short, inspiring video
  • A service outline
  • Prayers and activity ideas suitable for all ages
  • Free printed materials

These resources are designed to help churches raise awareness, encourage inclusion, and celebrate the contributions of disabled people within their congregations.

To find out more and download the materials, visit Through the Roof’s website.
