Vacancy: Second Wave Care Volunteers

We are responding to the trends we are seeing and hearing which suggests the number of infections is rising and we are therefore taking the sensible step of topping up our volunteer numbers. But there can be no volunteers without YOUR help!

We are looking for volunteers in all parts of the county with personal or professional experience of caring to provide support to people at home, It might be assisting someone home from hospital to help with things like loading/unloading washing machines or dishwashers, having a cuppa and chat with someone, reminding them to take their medications etc. It will not include bathing, toileting, dressing or any other aspects of intimate personal care.

We work closely with public sector colleagues to ensure that people always have access to the right level of support they need.

What do you need to do? If you are interested in becoming a “care” support volunteer and have experience in this arena, please let us know by emailing mid@volunteercornwall.org.uk and putting CARE in the subject line.

We will need to complete some checks (including a DBS check) to get you up and running but these days that’s a fairly quick process.
