Methodist Church Talks Healing Ministry and Neurodiversity

At their recent conference in Telford, the Methodist Church took an important step towards being more inclusive of neurodivergent people (those with autism, ADHD, and similar conditions). They discussed how healing prayers shouldnโ€™t try to โ€œfixโ€ neurodiversity since many see their differences as gifts, not illnesses.

The report, led by a group mostly made up of neurodivergent members, encourages the Church to be more aware and respectful in how they pray and support everyone. They also called for apologies for past exclusion and want to provide better training and resources so healing ministry works for all people, not just those seen as โ€œfixable.โ€
