Falmouth & Penryn: New CAP Debt Centre launched

This new CAP Debt Centre is run in partnership with St Budock Parish Church. The
Debt Coach at Falmouth & Penryn Debt Centre is Jacqui Bennett, Debt Centre Manager. Jacqui writes:

Thank you for your prayers during my training with Christians Against Poverty over the last month. It was a great experience and I have to say that the more I learn about CAP and the way in which they work, the more impressed I become. It is a great privilege to be a part of the CAP family.
The training ended on Friday evening with a blessing which was a great event.
And – Now we are live!

The next priorities are:

• to begin contacting various referral agencies like the Job Centre, Foodbank, Citizens Advice and other local charities etc. If you know of any local agencies that may be willing to work alongside CAP please do let me know.
• to train volunteers; so, if you have already volunteered to be involved, I will be in touch soon.

If you haven’t volunteered yet, but would like to, please let me know. There are various ways in which you can work with us including:

• Befriending a client
• praying for urgent needs sent via text/email
• making meals/cakes to take to a client
• helping with shopping

plus many more. Please get in touch for more information.

We do need to raise funds so that we can continue to bless people in this way, so if you can think of any fund raising events we could do, especially in these times of social distancing please let us know. Alternatively, if you are able, you could make a regular payment by standing order to Budock Church CAP fund.

For your prayers
Please pray that the referral agencies I contact will be responsive to the idea of referring people to CAP and helping them to become debt free.
But mainly, please pray for the people we will be reaching out to, that they might find relief from their debts and find a new life in Jesus. This is core to all that Christians Against Poverty do.
