The Christian Aid AGM will be held this year in Paul Church hall upstairs room at 1930 hrs.
In addition to the business of the AGM a discussion will be held about the future of Christian Aid fund-raising in the Penzance area. There are no longer any house-to-house collections taking place and other ways of raising funds need to be considered.
A method that has been tried elsewhere with some success has been for envelopes to be delivered to houses with a request printed on them that they be returned to a central address, perhaps the church or a private address. Experience has shown that people are prepared to deliver envelopes if they do not have to revisit to collect the (hopefully) full envelope, the least popular church task of the the year it would seem
Katrine Musgrave, the new Christian Aid representative for the South-West will give a presentation about Christian Aid work and bring us up-to-date with what is happening generally.
As if all that were not enough, a glass of wine, tea or coffee and some nibbles will be provided. It is hope that all local churches will send a representative to this meeting important to the future of Christian Aid.
