Revd Mark James, a Lead Consultant of the globally recognised governance authority DQM GRC, brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the conversation about the intersection of artificial intelligence and faith-based initiatives, more so perhaps as Mark is also an SSM, associate Priest serving in the Bude and coastal benefice.

In an era when technology permeates every aspect of life, the Anglican church stands at a crossroad, contemplating the role of artificial intelligence within its ministry. Mark is hosting an explorative workshop designed to delve into the potential harmonies and dissonances between AI applications and the values we are to uphold. The workshop invites participants to engage in a thought-provoking dialogue addressing critical questions such as:

  • The Role of AI: How can artificial intelligence complement the mission of the church while staying true to our core values and beliefs?
  • Ethical Boundaries: Where should we draw the line to ensure that AI supports, rather than undermines, the spiritual and communal objectives of the ministry?
  • Future Outlook: What does the future hold for AI within religious institutions, and how can we prepare for a synergistic coexistence?

As a discussion-led event, attendees are encouraged to bring their insights, questions, and experiences to the table. Together, we will navigate the complex landscape of AI, seeking to understand its place in enhancing the reach and impact of our ministry in today’s tech-driven world.
