Community Manifesto for Cornwall

WANTED – Proposals To Make Cornwall a Fairer and More Just Place To Live and Work

On May 6th a new Council for Cornwall will be elected. We plan to send ALL the proposals submitted to us to our new representatives as ideas from the Community. So if you want to make a difference please take up this invitation.

Our vision for Cornwall is a place where local people and communities are the change that they want to see, and recognise that we in Cornwall must take the initiative to act. This means taking a strategic, long-term view and then making decisions about how this change will come about. This community manifesto is a first step in articulating how Cornish groups and communities are stepping up to meet these needs and how these works might be emboldened and developed.

While the themes below are an attempt to articulate what a flourishing Cornwall might look like, we also recognise that they will overlap in ways that reflect the multi-layered reality of persons, groups, and experiences.

For each of the themes below you will find a number of groups in in Cornwall and nationally working to address the theme and a number of suggestions for how work in this area might be developed and expanded. This is a living and developing project, if you have a proposal you believe would make Cornwall a fairer and more just place then we urge you to send them in to us.

We want Cornwall to have a culture where difference is valued.
