Cinnamon Incubator Competition 2021

The Cinnamon Incubator Competition is an annual search to find ambitious church-led social action initiatives that want to replicate their work through churches across the country.

We’re looking for church-led projects supporting adults with employment, education and training.

What’s the prize?

Five finalists have the chance of securing a place on the coveted Cinnamon Incubator programme. Over the course of the two years, they’ll receive training and coaching to help them put in place strong foundations, make key connections and develop the capacity to grow. A place on the Cinnamon Incubator Programme is worth more than £21,000. Just five places are available each year on a strictly invitational basis, so this really is a prize money can’t buy. What’s more – the two winners will also receive a £25,000 development grant and all Cinnamon Incubator finalists have a chance to pitch their initiatives to a group of hand-selected philanthropists and potential donors at the Cinnamon Incubator Competition Final.

Who can Enter?

The number of unemployed adults has risen sharply over the past year.

So, this year, we’re inviting church-led projects that are already supporting adults with employment, education and training to apply.

We’re looking for church-led initiative that are:

  • helping individuals retrain
  • building confidence and skills
  • providing connections to work
  • creating employment opportunities
  • developing apprenticeships
  • reaching those not in education, employment or training

Of course, we know the church is incredibly creative, so this list is by no means exhaustive.

Perhaps you’re encouraging local employers to consider candidates who may otherwise not get an interview; maybe you’re helping ex-offenders gain employability skills; or you’re mentoring young adults who struggle to engage in employment, education and training.

We want to identify five innovative projects that have already demonstrated their success and are ready to amplify what they’re doing through other churches.

How Can I Apply?

Projects must submit a written application form and a 60-second video. Following this, five projects will be selected to go through to the Cinnamon Incubator Competition Final, where they will pitch their project against others.

Initiatives wishing to apply should have a good track record and be:

  • simple and replicable
  • church-sized
  • bold and want to grow
  • well-led

The deadline date is 5pm on Friday 25th June 2021
