Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) are managing this hub of information and resources.

As UK political parties prepare for another General Election, CTBI has relaunched the Churches’ General Election website to provide a space for sharing of information and resources, in partnership with national ecumenical organisations including Churches Together in England.

The first resource to be published is Hosting a Hustings: ideas and advice for churches on holding a question time meeting or hustings for the general election produced by the Joint Public Issues Team. This guidance has been used by local ecumenical groups in previous General Elections and has now been updated to take account of changes to constituencies, to relevant legislation and to explore the possibilities arising from the fact that we now have much more engagement in the virtual space. From next month it will be possible to register and publicise any election-related events you are organising via the General Election website.

CTBI General Secretary Dr Nicola Brady said: “We hope that the Churches’ General Election website and the resources shared will help us to bring our values to the election debate, advocating for the needs of our communities, for solidarity with those in need and for a politics that protects and promotes the common good.”

If you would like to share any resources you have developed to support churches and faith-based organisations in engaging with issues arising in the election debate you can share them with CTBI for publication by e-mail.
