Hello! I’m Amanda and I’m the new Christian Aid Church Engagement & Fundraising Officer (CEFO) for Devon and Cornwall. A bit about me: I have a background in the church and supporting overseas aid work and I live near Bude on the north Cornwall coast with my hubby John and 2 rescue dogs – so ideally placed for supporting churches and groups in both Devon and Cornwall!
But most of all I am passionate about the vital work of Christian Aid and how I can support it in our beautiful part of the world. Events over the summer have included a Big Breakfast in aid of Christian Aid held by Paul Church down in Penzance which raised just over £500 and congregations everywhere are being encouraged to “Act, Give, Pray” in support of emergency appeals, the most recent being saving lives and offering hope in support of our Libya Floods Appeal (Libya Floods Appeal | Christian Aid)
We are really looking forward to Christmas this year – “A Time to Shine” is our Christmas Appeal when we can all help the young women of Kurigram, Northern Bangladesh to light up their communities and open up a world of choices (Christmas Appeal 2023 | Christian Aid) and we will have our annual Christmas “Big Sing” in Truro Cathedral.
