Become a Fairtrade Place of Worship

,

Your church, synagogue, mosque, temple or diocese can join the fight for fairer terms of trade by becoming a Fairtrade place of worship.

There’s a brand new Fairtrade Places of Worship online platform for all churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, other places of worship and faith groups to apply for, or re-commit to Fairtrade status.

By supporting Fairtrade, your place of worship will become part of the Fairtrade movement. This new way of submitting your application and renewals means you will be able to print off your personalised certificate to proudly display in your place of worship. It also means you will be able to see how your Fairtrade journey has progressed over time since your initial application.

What does being a Fairtrade Place of Worship mean?

There are lots of ways to support Fairtrade, but just two core requirements to be awarded
Fairtrade Place of Worship status.

  1. Use Fairtrade products wherever possible (at least tea, coffee and sugar) and share this
    information with the wider congregation.
  2. Integrate Fairtrade into the life of your place of worship, at Fairtrade Fortnight or other
times of the year e.g. events, stalls and worship.

You can do lots more though and we invite all Places of Worship to get creative with their promotion of Fairtrade!
