MAWGAN IN MENEAGE CHURCH DAFFODIL FESTIVAL
Saturday 15th – Monday 17th February 2025
The festival is being made possible again by the generous support of Rowes Farming Ltd. which will be supplying more than 10,000 bright yellow daffodils to decorate the Grade I listed church.
The festival celebrates both the flower and the industry, an important part of the local economy for over a hundred years. Despite the difficulties of finding enough land to grow the daffodils, pickers to pick them and battling the weather throughout, somehow or other those lovely flowers will appear in time.
The posters and road signs are up, the bakers are preparing to produce dozens of homemade cakes, the chefs are planning the cauldrons of soup, the artists and artisans are creating their daffodil themed wares to display, and the musicians are being booked.
The Churchwardens will once again be organising the event and are looking forward to hosting this wonderful community event which brings together dozens of people to arrange the displays, bake delicious cakes, welcome the visitors and serve the refreshments.
The festival will be open 10.30am to 4.30pm each day and on Sunday, at 5.00pm, Revd Mike North will take a special Celtic Evensong at which the Bishop of St. Germans, the Rt Revd Hugh Nelson, will preach. Lunches and teas and refreshments will be available throughout the festival. Parking is available nearby.
