Resources for Advent and Christmas 2024

Resources are available for Advent and Christmas 2024, including the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, and those from a wide range of churches and Christian organisations. Plus there is material from previous years: A World in Waiting – Advent hope in an economic crisis and Advent Journey with the Magi.

The Bible Society

The Bible Society has a range of Christmas resources including new children’s booklets,  for toddler and primary school age, a revamped carol booklet, Christmas cards and stickers.

BRF Ministries has resources for Advent and Christmas including an Advent devotional for families. Plus there are questions and ideas to prompt conversations about how we might choose to do Advent and Christmas, as well as stories and reflections from others’ experiences.

CAFOD

CAFOD traditionally has an online Advent calendar of daily prayer and reflection. Plus you can sign up for daily prayers and reflections by email. There are also an Advent calendar and resources for children.


 

Christian Aid
Christian Aid Christmas appeal 2023

This year’s appeal from Christian Aid will support families in South Sudan fleeing conflict to buy food and lifesaving supplies. Christmas Worship resources are available, as well as a digital Christian Aid Advent Wreath and more

Christian BSL

Christian BSL provides British Sign Language (BSL) translations of Christmas carols and for words and phrases related to Advent and Christmas. The videos are presented by Deaf BSL users who are practising Christians.

Theme for this year’s resources from the Church of England is ‘Follow the Star: Calm and Bright’, which draws on the world-famous carol, Silent Night: “Silent Night! Holy Night! All is calm, all is bright…”

Life words has a Little Book of Advent which takes the reader on a journey of reflection and waiting, together with a free guide. There are also four different Christmas booklets, OUTSIDE/IN, The True Light, Meet the Cast and A Story for the Whole World, and other downloadable resources. The Methodist Church’s 2024 Advent and Christmas campaign is called ‘Hush the Noise: Join the love song this Christmas’. Resources are available download in English and Welsh. Professionally printed posters and postcard invitations can also be ordered.


 

Shine Your Light
Shine Your Light

A nationwide Christmas campaign to see Christians on the streets at Christmas singing Carols and sharing the Gospel, taking place this year over the weekend of 13–15 December 2024. It is supported by many Christian denominations, organisations, local churches, and networks.  Find out more.
